Life and art wisdom

"A picture lives by companionship, expanding and quickening in the eyes of a sensitive observer."
-Mark Rothko

"There is always a distance-a space-between us and the world that frustrates our attempt to get closer to that world."  -Jack Goldstein

"I can enjoy a world of dancing leaves as they float to the ground."
-Sandy Clewell

He was so proud of his garden.  When I pulled up he was watering it. So cool.....

Beautiful Mess

While driving, I spoted this place that I knew I would have to stop and check out on the way back through.  Could not figure out what it could possibly be....so interesting and cluttered.  I loved it all though. Took many different photos, and talked to the owner of the store for quite some time.  Turns out to be a record store, pretty crazy.  Never would have guessed it. The man was very kind, and told me about all the stuff happening in Niagara, and gave me an artist newsletter. The store has been there for 30 years.  He said that most of the time people don't want to talk when they come to photograph, they just want to concentrate.  Communicating is such an important part of everyday life and especially if you push your way into someone else's.  The photos does not show the whole beautiful mess. MUST SEE FOR YOURSELF, if possible.

Road Trip

Went to the Castellani Art Museum today, and had a lot fun.  The drive was beautiful and it was good thinking time.  Realized today how free we really are to make our own decisions; drive where ever and whenever you want, the ability to create different types of art, and to just be.  Amazing what we take for granted in this life.  Saw so many beautiful art pieces, but am only going to post a few for eveyone's sake;)

This caught my eye more than anything, very different and beautiful. Artist: Amanda Wachob: Exploring the Black line. medium: tatoo on leather.
The Freedom Crossing exhibit for parts of the Underground Railroad was amazing!! Very inspiring and such a huge part of history.  I admire Harriet Tubman beyond what I could ever say with words. Always wanted to meet her.
